This Resonator is just too nice for me to justify owning. Besides having a great tone, it is a work of art. Here is the description from a previous owner:

"Flamed figured Hawaiian koa back & sides, Englemann spruce top, Quarterman cone, gloss ebony fretboard with mother-of-pearl frets + position dots; curly koa binding with complex purfling inlay; Waverly tuners. This is a visually striking and gorgeous sounding Dobro/Resophonic guitar."
Hardshell case of course included. Thank you, Steve Takacs

What a beautiful reso,,,built by a great builder,,,, and gentleman to the core! Being sold now by a great guy,,,(even if he does live on the "other side")! That may very well be half price of what that guitar originally sold for.

I remember one time at the Dallas show Mike Auldridge was starting to teach a seminar and as was walking by Mike said hey Sonny come on and join us I said I didn't have a guitar ,,and suddenly Carroll Benoit stuck one in front of me and said here, use this one. About half way through the session I looked at the price tag on the reso,,,,$6800!!!!! (glad I didn't drop a bar on it,,,LOL)

Didn't mean to highjack your thread Steve,,,hope you are enjoying your visit!!!

Erv, Sonny and Dennis, thanks for checking in with the positive comments regarding the Benoit.

If you have ever seen one up close and played one as Sonny and Dennis have, you would agree that Carroll Benoit can craft his resonators with the best of the of them.
thanks, stevet
