I was recently staying with my friend, Bud Vanderberg, when the time came for me to change strings on my Emmons. He offered a couple of sets of Jagwires from his personal stock and, recalling a recent thread on string-breakage and a slight disagreement regarding the relative merits of Jagwire vs. Emmons, I wanted to see for myself, so I took him up on his offer.
I put stainless steel on both necks (Weldon's gauges on C6th), and I have to say, ten days and seven 'Patsy' shows later, that I'm a convert!
Ricky - I still don't think Emmons are 'junk'  , but I love the balance and the brightness of these Jagwires - thanks to Danny Hullihen, who responded quickly and efficiently to my needs, to you for putting the idea in my head, and, of course, Bud for giving me the strings to try, I'll be playing Jagwire from now on.

Roger that is great news man; glad you converted. My reference to "Junk" is anything that is not consistantly good. The Emmons strings and many others; certainly can be good; but certainly are inconsistant. The Jagwire is NEVER inconsistant; it is ALWAYS good.

I'll ditto Ricky. I use his Sho-Bud sets C6 and E9 and also Russ Hicks's E9 sets,
and they sound better than the other sets from other manufacturors, that I haveI gotten, and the "name brand" strings I occasionaly use from the guitar store.
They last pretty good, and also match the pulls on the bud like Ricky said they would. |

Well...here it is..I'm gonna crow one more time for Jagwires and Brads Black Box and of course the Hilton Pedal...
If you can pick, you need this combination...if you can't pick join me in learning..practice, practice..it aint practice if you aint learning.

| I changed to Jagwire back in March and I am staying with them. Also tried a set on my Tele and let me tell you they are fine on it also. I just can't figure out where to put the sticker on it. |

| I switched to Jagwire strings a couple of months ago maybe longer. They still sound good and the 11.5 third is still there. I'm going to leave it there until it breaks. |

If you had a 'Jagwire' tattoo on your forehead, then you wouldn't have to worry about sticking then on your guitars - I'm considering this myself, anyway.....
