I have this 8-string Morrell lap steel to sell. Poplar body, 3 octave fretboard, 22 3/4" scale, 3/8" string spacing. I replaced the lipstick pickup that came in it with a top-quality Stringmaster-style pickup that sounds great. Never got around to changing anything else on it because it sounded good to me without any other changes. It has the economy tuners on it, but they've always held tuning okay. There is one bump on the neck that a former owner took a Sharpie to, but otherwise nice and clean.
I am also including a 36-inch Bob Allen tactical rifle bag with a sturdy exterior and just the right amount of padding to protect the guitar in transport. Real nice outfit for just $300, shipping included, anywhere in the USA. Will consider shipping international for additional cost. Paypal, check, money order.
OPTION: Guitar only, no gig bag, $270 shipped anywhere in the USA. Elsewhere will cost additional.

What brand pickup did you put in that guitar? |

Nathan,
I bought the pickup here on the forum a number of years ago. The seller wasn't sure who the maker was. It appears to be a well-crafted custom/boutique pickup, handwound with top quality materials -- for example, the leads were made with vintage-style cloth covered wire. It could be a Lollar, or a Rukavina, or ... I don't know who made it, I just know that it is a very good quality pickup.

Ted Smith was offering these pickups (or similar) to retro fit the Melobar Tomohawks, which also originally came with a lipstick pickup. Perhaps it's one of those? |
