My name is Jen. My grandfather is George Sell. He made GES steel guitars. Him and I were very close and I'd like to carry on his memory. Above are 2 pictures of 1 of his guitars. If anyone has one or knows of anyone that is will to sell, please let me know. I would like my kids to have 1. They are very hard to come by. Thank you in advance 😃

Don't know what the story is here... but two of the pictures in the ad are identical to the ones in Jennifer's post.

As I said, *This one* went on sale yesterday. It should go without saying that when shopping on the internet you should be skeptical when checking things out. There's no need to be paranoid about it though. Either it checks out or it doesn't.

I have seen guitars posted for sale and then a year later seen the same one posted for sale with the same pics as when purchased. That happens. What if this is the exact same guitar that Jennifer has the pics of? Won't know unless it is verified.

I hope for her sake it turns out to be the real deal.

I thought you might have meant it that way. But, it was hard to tell since "This one" could also be a way to say "The one in this ad".

I just want to look out for my fellow forumites, and point out anything that seems odd just in case a bad deal is about to happen.

I too really hope she finds what she's looking for really soon. I know she's been posting about this for a while.

i would bet the craigslist ad is a scam. there's no reply button done normally. and the same pics are suspect.

Jeff, yeah I see that.

Chris, maybe, but I learned a long time ago to be careful of mistaking incompetence for malevolence. The guy might not be familiar with craigslist. He put his email address on there as contact info. Name is Craig Lundquist.

Funny thing though. He had 4 different pictures of the guitar but the OP only had 2 in her post. Did she post others before?

Anyway, the way to find out is to check it out.

those might all be pics from previous sites earlier.

i wish people selling things would post current pics from when they have the instrument in their own possession.

and i wish the girl could get ahold of one of her grandfather's guitars.

He sent me pictures of the guitar he was selling. I used pictures as a sample. I did buy that one today. I'm very excited to have this memory

I started a Facebook Group called GES STEEL GUITARS. GES are me grandfathers initials. George Sell was a great man, my favorite man. He has passed and I would like to keep his memory alive. I made this page so you can share pictures or stories. Can’t wait to read them.
