This is probably been covered before. And I'm sure I'm missing something. I'm setting up an MSA classic and P1 should raise string 1 from F# to G# and by the time I've tightened the nylon nut to get G#, the pitch of the open during is almost to G. I can get it to raise F# to G, but not up to G#. What am I doing wrong? I'm having no trouble to get the B's to raise to C# on P2 |

Ollie,
I'm not familiar with the MSA but the usual culprits are a rod from the crossbar to the changer not traveling far enough. Do you have the rod connected to the outermost bell crank? That would give you the most travel.
I also had a BMI once that didn't like light strings; the travel was so limited that anything less than the recommended string gauge would not pull to pitch.
