I'm not sure how many No Peddlers check the Tablature so I repeat my question here. This Sonny Treadwell song has a great bass line. I was wondering if anyone knew what notes he was playing.

Keith,
Sonny plays an 8-string guitar tuned to E major. I'm not positive what the bass strings are, but the 8th is probably E, maybe a low B. I can tell you that in general Sonny plays his bass lines on one string. For example, he would play a walking bass boogie line--say, E-G#-B-C#-D-C#-B-G#--all on the bottom string. I'm sure he used this approach on those howling bass lines on "Devil."
Good luck. |

Bob,
Thanks for your reply. I played slide guitar for years so tuning to an eight string E major has put me back into more familiar surroundings. I'll start working on those one string bass lines tonight.
