Getting this '74 MSA classic that's been in pieces ready to sell. It originally came with 3 pedals 4 knees set up emmons style. I had Jim Palenscar add a left vertical and zero pedal. I then took it apart to clean the changer and change the copedant. I got the cleaning done but not much else. After a few years of it sitting on the bench while I was gigging the heck out of my Williams 12 string and not touching it, i'm getting it ready to put it back together to sell. Somewhere along the way I bought a bunch of rods and belcranks to add changes.
My question is this: What is the most practical way to set this up to sell? I'm thinking standard Emmons with B lower on the vertical and franklin pedal in the zero position. Though, this is not how I would set it up for myself. |

Because I still like the knee that raises 1 a half step and lowers 6 to F#, I put the modern 1st and 2nd string raise on a zero pedal. So my setup is
Lkl: E raises
LKV: Bs to A#
LKR: E lowers.
P1:1 to G#, 2 to E
P2: A pedal
P3: B pedal
P4: C pedal
RKL: 1 to G and drop 6 to F#
RKR: 2 to C# with half-stop at D, 9 to C#
I'd add a raise rod to RKR to allow a split between the 2nd string drop and the zero pedal.

On my Williams, I also have my first pedal (or zero pedal) raising 1 and 2 along with raising F#7 to G#.I have the Franklin changes on my vertical.
I guess I will put something basic on first, then offer to add whatever they want.
Votes on most common uses for pedal one? 1+2 raise? Or Franklin changes(5+6 whole step lower)? |

My zero pedal lowers the G# strings to G natural.
I advocate having the vertical raise the 2 F# strings ti G natural, and the 4th knee lever lower the B strings to Bb.
