Interesting sales pitch: "Made for pedal steel." I'm pretty sure pedal steel was not around in the 40's, the reported vintage of this amp. But a cool looking amp nevertheless. _________________ It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. |

I have a later model Oahu Tonemaster. Sounded great with guitar and lap steel, and I even did a pedal steel session with it at very low volume....then the transformer blew up. Had it replaced but lost a little mojo...
looks like this:

That was made back in the days when the whole band plugged into one amp. |

Dave Z -
I have a mint condition Oahu / Tonemaster amp identical to the one you posted picture of.
Misc trivia factoid is that when the amp is turned on, the small Tonemaster panel on front lights up. |

It sure does. Must be where Matchless got the idea....or one of those boutique amp builders.
Also you can run a jumper cable from an instrument input to the vocal input and plug a guitar into either of the other two instrument input and you get some insane overdrive....if you like that kind of thing.
I loved that amp until I blew the tranny..... _________________ Dave Zirbel-
