Hello Friends,
This is a Dutch Auction for a mighty ZB. Each day I'm going to lower the price by $100 until somebody buys it. The starting price is $2500 (plus shipping) on May 6th. In case I don't post the new price every day, do the math.
I'm selling this ZB for a deceased friend who took lessons from me 40 years ago. This guitar has been in his closet pretty much since then.
It's a very interesting guitar featuring double 11 string necks, four KLs and 10 (yes 10) pedals. Also it currently has the Jimmy Day pedal set-up. One of the pictures below lists the current copedent.
The serial number is 0174. It's in good working condition. The only problem I saw was that the tone knobs on the end plate are missing, but you can still turn the pots. The color was probably green or blue, but is now brown.
The guitar comes with a nice case and a volume pedal. You might want to invest in split cases if you buy it, as it is very heavy in the case. To that end, I'm unsure how shipping will work. I would want to take it to a pro shipper to pack up which will probably be a few hundred dollars, plus shipping. I'm in San Francisco if you want to pick it up yourself.
Good luck and remember the price will drop every day, but if you're really interested, you might not want to gamble too long. It's kind of like musical chairs.

Damn Joe. That is a sweet ZB. If I had the bucks. I would head to you place and pick it. But, the wallet is empty. I hope you get a good price for it. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I agree with Chris and Richard.
I would re-think this Dutch-Auction.
That is one of the nicest ZB guitars I have seen.
Don't give it away please.

OK, as of Tuesday 5/10, the price is now $2100 + shipping.
Thanks Richard, Chris & Lefty for your appreciation of this guitar, and your despair that it might sell too cheaply. It's a unique guitar that someone will really love, and we'll let the market determine the price. The auction rolls on!

I agree with the others. Damir is selling one of the last ZB's ever made. Worth every dime and yet no takers.... _________________ D.S. Rigsby |

I agree with the other posters. I just don't understand why ZB's don't bring the kind of money they should. |

Is the photo recent? The color looks blue to me.
Please advise.

Hi Mark,
Yes, I'd say it was a blue guitar, but has definitely faded as all those ZBs did. Pictures were taken last week.
5/11 - $2,000
And I agree that Damir's ZB is beautiful.

As a former owner of a ZB, I would have to say that is a beauty.
Keep in mind you will need strength training to carry it around.... |

5/12 $1900.
Yes Barry, and as I mentioned above, one can mitigate most of the weight issues by getting a split case from Kevin Hatton. Now that I'm older, I did this a few years ago for my Zum, and it makes the schlepping a lot easier.
This is a unique guitar for someone looking for a D11. The little I fooled around with it, I appreciated how nice it was to have that low E with the E9 tuning. But I realize this isn't for everyone.

My first D-10 was exactly like that (minus the 11th strings). The C-neck sound was amazing ! |

My dream guitar is a D-11. I don't need 12 strings on either neck, but 11 would be perfect for what I want to add to each tuning. This guitar should be in my living room.
The late model ZB SD10 that Damir has, is my other other dream guitar (just ask him - By the way Damir, if you see this, remember my birthday is coming up, and I take early presents - LOL).
I would give my right nut for either of these guitars. Or both of them for that matter.
I think ZB's don't sell because of all the negativity on here about how hard they are to work on. Not so hard when you study how the undercarriage work. In my opinion, based on the sound I like coming out of steel guitar, ZB would top my list. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . The San Francisco Bay Area had a long love affair with ZB steels, it seems most of that area's top pro players played one, and I drooled over Greg Lasser's ZB. My first pedal steel was a student model ZB, 3 pedals, 2 levers, with red plastic top cover, that I bought from a student of Joe Goldmark in the mid '70s, I never knew his name, wonder if it could be the same person who owned this one?
They ARE a claptrap under the hood, but oh that tone and twang! _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION
