Curious to get responses from those that have had heart bypass surgery and resumed normal activity.
How long before you could play a four hour job again?
How long before you were able to move and setup all your own gear?
Thanks in advance. _________________ Justice The Judge SD-10, 2007

Pete, After I left the hospital, I started my own rehab by walking, and after a couple of weeks started on an exercise bike( one with push pull handle bars). I did this every day for about a month, started to lift light loads(that incision will tell you how much and when). All together I suppose it was around two months before I could tote and set up my steel. I know every one heals at their own rate, but this will give you a ball park figure.
Just make sure the rehab part is done, and good luck in your come back, assuming this question is for you. |

You might get better medical advice on a violin forum (more doctors there). |

Depends on what the doctor says, and how healthy you were other than the cardiac condition before surgery, etc.,etc. _________________ --carl

Hi Pete, I had a triple...then years later a quadruple bypass. After that I had to have a heart transplant. Don't rush things. Your body will tell you when you are ready...take care on lifting heavy things....please look at my website enclosed for the whole story. I wish you well.
