This old Fender still has the original finish with plenty of dings and scratches and a couple of cigarette burns. Well-earned patina. I purchased it from a local fella who bought it at an auction. It was missing one of the tuner pans(replaced - thanks to forum member Dave Mayes) and otherwise needed some attention. Couple of tuners replaced, new clutches for the legs, new handle for the case, new pots and tone cap. Everything works now and the trapezoid pickups sound great; strong and even output from all three. New strings, A6, E13 and C6, inside to outside. Includes the case and legs. The tweed case has unfortunately been painted brown and is weakening back by the hinges so it needs to be fortified before it falls apart.
This is a cool looking and great sounding axe, just too many necks for me at this point in my learning. Asking $1,000.00 + shipping (from Hagerstown, MD). Prefer cash but if it doesn't move quickly, I would entertain the possibility of working out some sort of a trade for an S8, D8, vintage tube amp or collectable lap steel. I'll answer any questions or requests to the best of my ability.

This guitar has been sold (with a partial trade). Forum donation forthcoming. I'm really delighted that this Fender will be put back in action after what was probably a long hiatus. Thanks everybody! |
