| Anyone ever use a Bass amp with pedal steel? Why and Why not ? A good bass amp usually has a good 15 inch speaker some even have a horn installed in them like a pa might have . |

MANY folks do. They have great tone.

The best tone I ever got was a at a rehearsal where I played my LeGrande D-10 into the available vintage Ampeg B-15. Couldn't get much clean volume, but the tone was unreal.
Think I'm gonna try playing into my Fender Rumble 200. Never thought about it, but this post gave me the idea to try.

I have a little GK combo bass amp (MB-108) that I use for rehearsals sometimes, with a stomp box for reverb. I've also used the MB-100 head with a Line6 Pod XT on stage. Both of these work well for clean steel sounds. The EQ is logical and easy to dial in, and they are light weight.
The only drawback with these amps is that they don't have reverb, which I consider essential for my own steel sound. I wouldn't buy either as a steel amp for that reason - I only own them because I'm also a bass player.

A steel guitarist by the name of Tony Arrowood used to post videos on You Tube. He played through an old Peavey TNT bass amp. Here is a link to some of his videos.

I play lap steel and telecaster in one band, and I've used a bass amp
live and in the studio for years.
(As seen on left) I have 2 Peavey TKO 80 bass amps, one for gigs and one stays in the
rehearsal studio. THIS, AFTER MUCH messing around with Fender amps, a couple of Music Man amps. I have the mids cut, bright switch on and run through:
1. Wampler Ego compressor
2 Fulltone Fat Boost
3.Boss 'Fender Reverb
☑ï¸With the 15" closed cab the tone is big and 'lush'.
☑ï¸ALSO--- there are three other factors in the tone department that I wouldn't overlook.
One is your strings, fresh is best. One is your bar, stainless is bright, brass softer etc.
And last is your picks. You would be amazed at the difference your pick makes in
how you sound.
