I'm resurrecting an original Session 400 and will need a reverb tank. Can some of you guys, with more smarts than I, recommend the best way to go. Before accutronics moved off shore I had contacts there for reverb info. Thanks in advance. Bill |

I'm hearing good things about the MOD line of reverb tanks as sold by www.antiqueelectronicsupply.com They're said to have the old '60's reverb sound.
They also sell Accutronics tanks, but I hear they are a different manufacture from the old ones.
Your old tank should have the model numbers stamped on the case.
I'm getting ready to order one myself for my NV400. I haven't heard them, but I'm going to take a chance. |

I put a MOD in my Session 400 last year. Sounds excellent! Cured a dead original pan.

Just so you know, someone in another thread says the new MOD line of tanks is noisy....I don't have any experience with them so I can't say personally if they are a good replacement.
I think I read where TW and a few others, maybe Ken Fox, along with Mel here, had something good to say about them.
I may hold up on my order pending further input. |

I have several Mod tanks in my amps, all great!
A few years ago I A/B tested several for my "Twin" build, an old Gibbs, an old Accutronics, (both 4 series), a new 9 series Accutronics, and a new Mod 4 series long delay, I like the Mod best.
I installed a new Mod in a franken/Peavey just last year, and it is as good as any other. |

That was me. Since I posted that, I went and checked to make sure I ordered the right part number. I did but then I noticed I somehow had a 12ax7 driving the tank. No wonder it was so sensitive! I switched it for an 12at7 and it's much better. I retract my statement. The MOD sounds fine now. Sorry for the mis-speak! |
