Ricky Hagen and Danny Blizzard were in the shop today and both said they had never heard a better sounding amp than my new Telonics Comb15 Amp.

I love my 15" combo. It has so many cool, well-thought out features, and sounds marvelous. The weight is is great too. And Telonics customer service is second to none.

After I got my Telonics, I sold all of my other amps. I love the combo 15, best sounding amp I've ever owned and I think I've owned just about all of them. Like someone else said the tech support, even for the simplest of questions, is second to none.

Which amp are you all talking about when you say combo? Is it the TCA 500? It weighs 40 lbs and cost 2500 plus. Was searching for the combo and that's all I found. Thanks

Actually Henrry the Combo amp is available in many configurations now - the TCA500B being the biggest version with the 15" speaker and an extra rack slot for a EFX 19" wide unit. There is also a "Head only" version, which can be used with one or two of the Telonics speaker enclosures ! :-}, and of course the mini 12" and the mini 15" which don't include accommodation for the EFX unit.

I would love for some of you to post your settings. This amp is so versatile and the knobs only have to be moving slightly to make pretty big changes.

The manual offers some suggested settings but I would like to see what different players are doing.

Here's how I have been setting mine lately with my '60's PP's. I tend to go for more of an old-school sound (clear, scooped mids, icy top end. And as Bill accurately describes, these amps are indeed very versatile, and a small tweak can make a big difference):

Billy you really sounded great in Benson, NC. Your tone was dead on in a very large room.

Curious how many of you are using the onboard Telonics reverb as opposed to a rack mount digital effects unit. Is the basic onboard reverb comparable to a good tube driven reverb? I'm sure there are some great sounds to be had with the rack units, but I'd rather shoot myself than have to program patches on an effects unit just to get my amp to sound great!

It would be great if Telonics could record some sound samples for their website so people could get a rough idea of the amp's capabilities. It seems like you have to travel to a steel guitar show to hear one of these amps!

If you buy the unit with the Lexicon 200, it's already programmed with very nice presets. The onboard reverb is very nice, but the Lexicon is better. The presets are excellent, in my opinion

My part time helper / bass player / fiddler deluxe Mark Abbott brought one of the combo models with rack effects and 15" speaker to the shop in Branson for us to play with for a while and in general we were all mightily impressed.

Very powerful, versatile, clean and clear, supports most varieties of tonal preference very well. Also a nice light package to handle. Just first class all the way, really. Yes, they cost quite a bit but you are getting what you pay for in this case.

Helper Johnny Cox is very pleased with his 12" Telonics, using it on some Branson shows with the new prototype Stage One.

I liked the built in reverb as well as that of the rack mount reverb.

My playing is not good by any means but I have been told that I've got good ears. My perspective would be that of a very common local musician. Were I to be in the market for a really nice amp I know who I would call first.

What is the 'new prototype Stage One'? Is that an update to the original design?
