Ryan Rukavina custom built an 8 string lap for me also, it is a beauty, his craftsmanship is right at the top, and it sounds good, plays nice, has good heft to it so it stays on my lap. Mine was made from one thick piece of African Ribbon Mahogany.
I think the components are good quality. And the gun cases he uses for these steels are just the right size so the guitar doesn't slop all over the place in it.
Good luck on your sale, it is a very weorthy instrument.

Hi Johnnie, I've wondered if Alan has had any bites yet.
Ryan Rukavina is a top notch luthier I rank as in the same ball park with you. Lots of nice things to say about this guitar of Alans.

Thanks Johnie and Dick for your bump. I just got back in town and have a couple of folks inquiring about this fine lap steel but no sale yet. Dick is right, Ryan Rukavina makes as fine of lap steel as Johnie does. I'm still enjoying my 6 string lap I bought from Johnie. |
