| I have a rackmount Steelaire and am running a Telonics speaker cabinet with a 12 ft. speaker cable. The speaker is 4 ohms and the internal speaker output on the amp is 4 ohms. The external speaker output is 4 to 8 ohms. Common sense tells me to connect my extension speaker to the internal speaker output instead of the external speaker output. A combo amp comes from the factory with the speaker plugged into the internal 4 ohm output. The amp does not know that my speaker is behind me instead of inside an amp cabinet, so it seems that this is the way I should go and only use the external output if I run two speakers. Just want to make sure I am right here, not being an electronic's guy. |

The Quiter can run two ohm load, two four ohm speakers. I regularly run two four ohm telonics neos with it. If you run another speaker from the second jack of the Telonics and it is four ohms it's still parallel and equals 2 and the Quilter can handle it.

George...regardless of the ohms, or size, or make of speaker. You should have at least one of your (speakers) cabs connected to the "Internal" input on the Steelaire. Because it is voiced differently then the external. This is what Pat told me. Pat Quilter is great at answering questions from players. If in doubt, ask Pat Quilter. The quilter folks are second to none at customer service.

Hey George R. I've always used two speakers with my rack quilter, I'll have to check but I thought there were only two available speaker outs...you've got my curiosity now.These are rack quilters and I know for certain they can take a two ohm load. I'll have to see if mine has one labeled internal!

Since we're talking extension speaker cabs. The Milkman Half & Half can be wired by Tim, to use two 4 ohm speakers. My amp was custom wired that way from the factory.  |

| George, and George, from me, George, thanks. I am all clear now. I am only using one speaker cabinet and I have it connected to the internal speaker jack. It would be nice to use two cabinets, but the places I play are just too small. I thought about contacting Quilter but it seemed like such a simple thing, I hated to use bother them. I was 99% sure I was right, I just wanted somebody to confirm it. |
