Hello,

I've been kicking around the idea of relocating to Grass Valley. I was wondering if there were any pedal steelers up that way that could enlighten me on the area:
Any good venues, bands, music stores, etc?
What about the area, quality of life, schools, etc?
Any areas to avoid?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Larry Tracy is in Nevada City right next to Grass Valley, Peter Grant is down the road a little in Auburn...

Oh yeah, I think I met Larry years ago when our bands were on the same bill somewhere.

Tom, you're moving up to the Gold Country?

Maybe Joseph. I'm doing time as a state employee. I could retire tomorrow, 4/1, but I'll probably put in one more year.

I've lived in a lot of places, but I have no real "home" to go to. Nevada City seems like a good place. So did France until recently. I doubt if I'll go back to Tokyo and Mendocino is nothing like it used to be when I lived there.

Right now I'm buying instruments. Got a Rickenbacker 360/12 today. Have a National Resophonic Tricone coming next week and I just picked up a serious fiddle. My friends who have retired say to get your goodies before you retire. I'm dong that...
