| Intersting. I'm a total noob at steel (play guitar and banjo) and just picked up a really nice, well-maintained Pro III. From what I've read some say it's an oddball in the Sho-Bud line, others love them. Mine should be here in a week, and as a beginner I don't know any better. I was told though that it stays in tune and works flawlessly, so what else can a beginner want in a pedal steel? |

Scott, I'm in no way trashing my Pro-III. After 40 years of play it's a great guitar, I've toured for almost seven years straight with it and I will never get rid of it. Just needs work and I've only had one guitar until now. 200+ shows a year with Whitey never allowed me any time to send it to be rebuilt. That's my plan. As for being an "oddball," my sho bud certainly is one of the transition years so I can't tell you what our guitars have in common. Before I ended up getting the Show Pro, I was buying that green, metal neck Pro-III that Mr. Besic is selling on the forum. If it hadn't sold temporarily on eBay, I'd own two Pro-III's right now. I'm sure you have a great guitar in the mail!

Love my Pro 111. Had it for almost 40 years and apart from a stripped leg socket thread, she has been incredibly reliable. Will never part with it. Good luck with yours. Damir's guitars are always in first class condition.

| The Pro III I am hoping to take delivery on next week is a 1978. Wondering if they were good during that year, or were the earlier ones better? How long did they make them for? |

My original 76' ProIII which factory shipped blue but faded over the years. I went through it a year ago and disassembled & cleaned/degreaser everything. Swapped out the changers E9th for C6th vice versa. It had been my main guitar in the 70's/80's....
