Once again the TSGA delivered a first class steel guitar show for the musicians and spectators alike. Albert/Debbie Talley and all their support team work like crazy for a whole year to present the finest (and largest) steel show in the world. My hat's off to them and my sincere thanks for letting me be a very small part of it.

I also give my heartfelt thanks to the crowd that was present in the hall Saturday evening for my set. I love playing traditional country music on the steel guitar but a lot of times I play "other" types of music too that might not be your favorite. But, you folks in the chairs that night made be feel very welcomed and appreciated. I was just trying to prove that the steel guitar can make any type, or "kind", of music beautiful. Thank you all for your acceptance of my efforts.

I never have been able to stand "Billie Jean" but I loved your version of it!

Yeah Mike, Tommy puts it in another time wrap. I am like you but we all need to open our minds and know that the steel guitar can be played in any style of music. Tommy is living proof of it, Great Job Tommy. J.R. Rose

Neil, J.R., and Mike - Thanks so much for the compliments on my set. I truly do have fun when I'm on stage in Dallas because they always have a great rhythm section to work with. And, as I said earlier, the crowd is very attentive and appreciative of the players up on stage. All together, it's a great experience and I am very thankful to have been asked to perform the last several years.

Tommy,
We sure enjoyed you set. You played great as usual. You always bring something different to the table and that is what will perpetuate the steel into the future. We also enjoyed Donna sitting by us during you set as well and had a nice visit with her while you were getting set up.

Tommy's set was so much fun. Man, he really picks those strings hard and with such enthusiasm. One of my favorite shows of the weekend. Tommy was playing a sweet Infinity D-10, the one he bought off this Forum a couple months ago. Bought 4 of his CDs, so that should tell you all something about his playing and playing outside of the normal repertoire of songs heard at steel conventions. Billy Jean had all the wives up dancing. The women just went wild. Thanks so much Tommy. Very nice meeting you and your beautiful wife and designer of your CD art work.
