Hello fellow Steelers...
I have a MSA D10 Classic with a serial# 2c839. Does anyone have an Classic somewhere close to this? And what year is yours?

| Donny, are you sure that's not 2C839? Not sure what that represented but the classics usually have a "C" in it. Mine is 2C5770 and is a 1977 model (Per Reese Anderson). |

For some reason I will never forget my Classic S/N....My first steel was a ShoBud The Professional lemon that never worked in spite of two trips back to ShoBud. It was traded for the first functional steel I had, an MSA Classic, serial number 2C897..... a 1972 or 73 model. That may help you get in the ballpark.

We could tell you more if you posted some pictures of the guitar.
Prior to 1975-76 the guitars had a mica finish, the fretboard and MSA nd classic logos were external pieces that were glued in place and the necks extended right up to the pickup.
Around '76-76 they started making design changes, the most obvious was an aluminum well surrounding the pickup. Some of the guitar from this period still had the external fretboards and logos. Some were painted.
By '77 or 78, the external fretboards and logos had been eliminated, and were silkscreened to the neck and front apron, and the guitars were finished in lacquer.
