I know where there is a GES pedal steel for sale.Belongs to a lady after her husband passed away. It's been in a spare bedroom with a blanket over it for many years. She never put it in the case because it was to heavy and did not know how to break it down. Her husband purchased it on eBay about 10 or so years ago. It is a D10 with 8x4. It's in really nice shape. Looks like the one in Winnie's book. Could be that one? Could anyone tell me who made them, what's it worth. The owner doesn't either, she just wants it out of her house. Would appreciate your help guys.

Sell lived (lives?) near Philadelphia and from what I recall when I looked things up a few years ago, he stopped building a long time ago. Pull release guitars. Bruce Derr here in Lee NH has a S-12. Maybe if he sees this he can chime in.

I visited George's shop back in the late 70s in Boothwyn, PA. I remember seeing a few double necks there, and how beautiful they were. Winnie hooked us up, and I have no idea why I even went there!!!! I think he passed away quite a few years ago. If I remember, Winnie told me that he asked George quite a few questions when he was designing his own guitar. Again, this is going back almost 40 years, and the memory of these events is getting a bit foggy.

How are you? We talked a while back ago about getting a steel guitar my pop pop George sell made. You knew of someone who had 1 in their spare room. Do you know how I could get in touch with the lady?

Jennifer,
There was one in Pat's music on Street Rd., Bensalem a few years back. It was tucked away in the back and the pedal rack and rods were sitting on top of it. Don't know if it's still there, but might be worth a phone call.

Yes; I bought that guitar from Josh around '86. Here is a pic of me at a gig back then playing it.

Rich Upright,I know that guitar well...an interesting thing when Josh was my couch lizard in California he was having a little problem with one of the left side knees so we brought it to Dale Fortune"Guitar maker outside of Santa Ana,He says Go over to this old guy's house in Santa Ana and he'll retap the screw. So we go over to this very nice old man and we're in his back yard,He takes us into a big shed and starts showing us a bunch of lap steels with motorized vibratos,Really old Rickenbakers and then he pulled out a K&F lap steel...Right then I realized that the old guy was Doc Kaufman...He then proceeded to retap the screw hole in the knee lever! Winking
