Very awesome. Two of my favorite guitarists together.
Shenandoah begins to play about thirty minutes in. In My Room about 48 min.
Thanks for the link. |

Thanks for the link Rich, superb quality video. I am going to hold off on watching the whole thing until after I can listen to the CD. I bought it last week at my local record store but haven't had a chance yet to give it a spin.
Charles & Bill played as a duo (without the rest of the band) a few weeks ago up the road from me in Healdsburg, but I just couldn't justify the tickets at $75 a head. Now If Greg Leisz had been on board I might have talked myself into it.

I'm with you, Mark. I would have paid $75 to see Greg Leisz with them, but I couldn't justify it for the duo. Frisell & Leisz are magic together. I have a lot of their albums. I think they are redefining jazz.
Williams S-12 on this video. Sounds beautiful, especially on "Shenandoah". _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

This was fantastic. Thanks for posting. I'm planning on ordering the CD soon. I think if the concert is ever available as a DVD, I'll buy that. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the first tune was "Masters of War." Blew me away. |

I drove four hours round-trip to see Frisell and Charles Lloyd, and was more than a little disappointed Greg Leisz was absent. Now, I'll go just about anywhere to see Frisell and have, but there's nothing like the interplay between his guitar and Greg's steel.
(I'm such a fan, I saw him two weeks later with his "Wish Upon a Star" band, which was so very different from the Charles Lloyd. Both great, in their own ways.)
Here's another example:
