I just saw this on Ebay:

They say it's a prototype for a new model they are developing. Are they re-issuing the famed Rick pickup?

I read: .... The other pickup is an old Rickenbacker horseshoe...

But then, for an opening bid of $2500.oo I'd re-issue Einstein's great grand mother for ya

I too read the part about the salvaged pickup being used in the prototype, but will subsequent models use a reissue pickup? There are only so many 'old' pickups to go around and I'd hate to see them cannibalize vintage Rics for their new guitars.

As an sideline, I recall Shot encountered a problem with PATENT RIGHTS owned by Rickenbacher relating to the REAL horseshoe magnet pickup...hence the imitation (non-magnetized) horseshoe "decoration" on all JB's and Sho-Bud frypans...which were of course, useless.

If it's so "increadable", why didn't Mr. Harper hang onto it?
