anybody know where don helms famous console grand guitar is now. I love the interview that what taken back a couple years before he passed. He told many stories and the old days and gave a little insight on the real Hank Williams. I wish I could find that cd. I also read his book settin the woods on fire. I loved reading that book because it spoke of all of the people he met and knew personally and they weren't necessarily the same as portrayed on TV. |

Yes!! Joe Turner was the one who interviewed him. Also had some great steel picking on that album.
I remember the story of don helms speaking of have his first electric guitar but had no power in his house as a kid lol. He put the guitar across an old washtub turned upside down so that he could get sound. And joe turner comments and says that "yeah, you had the worlds biggest dobro". Lol. Hilarious |
