Though the award was ultimately given to master fiddler Jason Roberts, Rose was in rarified company with her nomination for Musician of the Year by the Ameripolitan Music Awards here in Austin TX.

Thanks for the mention, Herb. STEEL GUITAR was well represented as far the nominations in the 2016 Ameripolitan Music Awards Musician category -- 7 out of 15 nominations were steel players! -- Joel Paterson, Chris Casello, Jason Roberts (yes, he plays steel, too), Jim Loessberg, Chris Scruggs, Dave Biller and yours truly. Hooray for steel guitar!!

It was indeed a wonderful night... the award Rose was up for was named (informally?) the Ralph Mooney award... I've heard it called about three different things.
