About to pull the trigger on one of these but all the Hilton pedals i saw had a removable power adapter. Is this the same as a new Hilton? With just a built in power supply? The older (original?) model has an attached power supply.
Keith Hilton uses the attached power supply model. |

I'm not sure of the question. They ALL use an external power supply, but the early ones had the pedal end permanently attached, so you'd have to roll the cable up to the pedal, and after time the cable could come out. The new ones have a detachable wallwart. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

They are equal. I have an older one with the attached power supply and a newer one with the detachable power supply and can't tell the difference. |

I have the original with the transformer attached, it's been to hell and back for at least 12 years and has never ever not worked, pheonominal product for all enviroments especially real world such dusty rodeo's, honky-tonk's, rainy days etc....No buzz off light's, No cable breakage, No pot sandpaper scratch, No maintenance at all...
I never wrap the cable around the pedal, instead i place the pedal and the transformer with both hands in my road case, without letting the heavy transformer dangle on the lead. _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |

Thanks guys! I pulled the trigger on the older hilton with built in power cord. I am excited to try an active pedal.
Great help! _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 , Lil Izzy Buffer, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, Boss DD-7, Peterson Strobo flip, Peavey Nashville 112 |

If I remember correctly, Keith once said here that both the power requirements and power supplies are (electrically) different for each style of pedal. |

Keith says that the pedals are the same, just the power supply is different...but the Telonics pedal has switchable curves based on pedal testing, and has two different curves for the two kinds of Hilton pedals...I love the old Hilton (attached-style) taper and keep my Telonics switched to it. This taper closely resembles the famed Goodrich taper, but with no string needed... _________________ https://www.lostsailorspdx.com
