I thought this would be easy but I can't find an ideal shot.

I'm flying tomorrow with my bar and picks (the steel's already there) and I'd like to find a picture that clearly illustrates what the bar is for. Do you have any suggestions?

I know they could go in checked baggage but this just a three day tour and I want to get away with just a carry-on bag.

I'd appreciate any help - a link, perhaps?

"steel guitar bar" on google brings up some pics that should be convincing for the TSA...

These aren't very big but Ok if you're just showing them on your phone...

I never thought of that - I usually just mime playing the steel with it and they usually get the idea.

Have a safe flight.

I had a set of gear (a pac-a-seat full of odds-and-ends and my Zum Encore) shipped from where I left it in December (Bismarck, ND) to my next gig - a theatre in Covington, VA this Thursday.

The trouble is I couldn't for the life of me remember if there was a bar-and-picks in the seat!!! There may be and all this might be for nothing but I'm going to pack a BJS and a set of picks just in case.

I'd feel pretty silly traveling all that way if, when I got there, I couldn't get a sound out of it all.

Commercial flying has become an onerous business, hasn't it?

Here's the hands of the steel player for Lurline Lumkin on the Simpsons...

It doesn't look like it will be much help, but at least you can say you have run the gamut of results... Winking

I'm at Roanoke and no-one even asked about the bar and picks!!!

I'm ready for trouble on the return trip, though.

Thanks again for all the help.
