Bobby Bowman told me that he uses a wire wheel on a grinder. But don't take my word, I would visit with Bobby Bowman himself before doing it. Hope this helps.

Buster that black anodizing is hard as nails to get off without scratching up under lying aluminum surface. I work for plating shop for past 19 years. we do aluminum anodizing. removing anodizing can easily be done in the etch tank we use for conditioning aluminum before its desmuted and anodizing. etch is just made up of 10 percent by volume of 50 percent liquid caustic in 90 percent plain water thats heated to around 120 degrees warmer the etch is the faster it.ll work. you can use caustic beads instead of liquid. but in about 15 minutes all the black anodizing will be removed down to bare aluminum. then just wash off most of smut with water dry than your ready to polish them up again. send me a email if you,d like to go that route. or i,d be more than happy to do it thru my work than send them back to you asap. James
