My friend Larry Waisner and I are going to devote our time, efforts, and funding to set up a refurbishing repair station for pedal steel guitars. Across this country there are thousands of guitars under beds, in closets, being neglected, and deteriorating. Its our belief that we can effectively collect, repair, refurbish and GIVE AWAY these guitars to the masses of people unable to afford equipment.
I am in the process of setting up shop in Bandera TX, and I am transferring ALL OF MY PARTS INVENTORY and tools to this location. Larry has a FULL SERVICE MACHINE SHOP, LATHES< MILLS the works...WE CAN MAKE ANYTHING WE NEED IN-HOUSE.
Please consider being a part of this with us....IF YOU HAVE A STEEL GUITAR, DOBRO, LAP STEEL, etc that are not being used...Please consider donating them to our cause. This also pertains to accessories such as Volume Pedals, Effects, Cases, Amplifiers, anything that would help complete a package for the recipients..
I personally have given away 4 complete rigs now, and I wish to not only continue this, but to expand this to a full time endeavor..If you have issues with the cost of shipping, we will consider covering this if the gear is suitable....THANK YOU ALL FOR READING...

Hi Mickey

I think this is an honorable thing to do. I remember when I was learning back in the 80's, I couldn't afford a decent guitar with the addition of raising 2 children. Thankful those days are completed with much success!

Now a days, there are two different kind of buyers. Those who can and those who can't. I was in the latter during my learning days.

By you providing this worthy cause, maybe a younger demographic will enjoy a worthwhile endeavor into music, specifically the instrument we all love called the Pedal Steel Guitar.

Maybe a fund where people can donate money toward the cause? I don't have any guitars to donate but would be willing to make a donation to help younger players obtain a guitar.

I think there are many ancillary avenues to your cause that many could make a contribution to this noble cause.

Best of luck and hope to see you in Dallas again! Let me know if I can help!

I'm a newby here and this endeavor sounds awesome. I'm in the process of saving up for a steel (and have a long ways to go) but I'd love to contribute once I have the means of purchasing my own.

Very cool that you have already been taking this on. I was taken by the instrument after hearing B.J. Cole play Clair de Lune on pedal steel.

I don't have any parts to contribute but perhaps someday!

Mickey,

Sent a donation but the email you provided isn't working on PayPal. I used the phone # you provided and it worked.
