I knew Mr Overby for less than 10 years. What a wonderful person, very quiet soft spoken, but very talkative not in words but in his playing the "steel". I still miss him til this day, he taught me a lot, Good luck to the new owner of the LDG

That song that Damir put up by Kimberly with Dicky playing the Steel guitar song; Dicky cut that with his Emmons; NOT a Sho~bud. I put that LDG together for him after that; but he was already playing a Pro II custom that I set up for him, between the Emmons and the LDG. Dicky sounded the same on all 3 steel guitars..ah...ha...he IS Dicky Overbey and it has never been about what steel guitar he plays..he always sounds exactly like Dicky; like Mickey just said: Tone and Emotion..

I always loved to hear Dickey Play. He played with such emotion. I have always considered him to be the king of the wide grip....love it.

I owned that guitar for a few years, later sold it to Randy Lindley and Ricky did his thing after that. I can tell you that that particular LDG was a good one for sure, especially after Ricky did his work. But it never sounded like Dicky made it sound, for me or anyone else I heard play it.

I agree with Ricky 100%; Dicky was Dicky, whatever he played..

I used to listen to Dicky for hours on hours as a youngster. Although this was one of his most recent songs with his daughter Amber Digby, his approach and playing is so emotional and spot on. Like Ricky said after all it's Dicky!
