Read earlier that Dan has passed on. I was able to see him several times in the past 15 years and it was always a great time! Saw Bobby Black play with Dan and the Hot Licks at the Throckmorton in Mill Valley maybe 8 years ago in a salute to the singing Cowboys - what an unforgettable treat!!! He was a unique, talented and quirky performer, musician and songwriter. Will sure miss him.

I played C6th dobro with The Acoustic Warriors for a little, in the early 90's.
When I went to his house for the audition, he gave me tapes of many songs to learn. We probably played 5% of the songs at shows. The music was very fun to play.
Dan seemed to have some demons, which he is free of now. RIP
