G'day all, I inherited a framed & dedicated vintage postcard type photo & was wondering if anybody knows of this guy please. I'm guessing 20's to early 40's?
& thinking early Australian Hawaiian music performer?
The faded autograph reads:

To Dawn,
**eff aloha oui
Fred Roe

I'd have to say it reminds me a lot of Nick Manoloff. Nick was the most popular publisher of teaching materials for Spanish and Hawaiian guitar, and supplies for same, back in the '30s and '40s.

Now there's a great old memory for me Donny. When I was 8 I told my mother I wanted to play a steel guitar. What I really meant was electric but she did what she could to get me what I needed to learn steel.

That was the book she got me and I haven't seen that cover for 52 years.

Thanks for the big smile on my face this morning.
