Hello folks,
I did some searching around the forum the other day and came across some old posts by myself and it reminded me that I used to post quite a few lap steel videos here. So I decided to make a film of some new ideas, and also share my joy of the wonderful combo that is the Lap King Rodeo with Lollar Charlie Christans and Michael Hillman's powder coated "fat" (7/8" x 3" - I think these are the dimensions of this bar, please correct me if I'm mistaken Michael) bar.
Here is the video:

The tuning is A major in "Dobro tuning" format.
Signal chain: Lap King Rodeo (with 2 x Lollar Charlie Christans) > Neunaber WET reverb > JG Steroid Champ amplifier.
Have a good lap steel-filled weekend!
All the best from snowy-but-melting Berlin,

Very interesting.
How would you compare your new powder-coated bars to your Tribotones? |

Stephen, the Tribo-Tone and Michael Hillman's coated bars are both top notch. Similarly low string noise and similarly comfortable to hold. I would say that the difference is that Michael's coated steel bar has a little more treble to its sound.
Both are fantastic tone bars. _________________ www.fredrikkinbom.com - New lap steel album out now - listen here: fredrikkinbom.bandcamp.com/album/songs-for-lap-steel-and-harmonium |
