It would seem country music is not quite dead yet. This girl is new to me and is joined by Willie Nelson himself, looking and sounding as good as ever.
Take a look and listen to the Steel Guitar too.

If this is new country, I like it.
Good writing--it starts out like a story, catches my ear right away along with the steel--who is it?--and Willie and Trigger don't hurt...
... and an intro that sets it apart. (I wish it went out the way it came in, but Nashville may not be ready for that. It's a good start.) |

Kacey's been around for a little while. I don't know that much about her, but she sounds great on this tune. I've always liked that song...just don't hear it too often.
Strange looking Show Pro? though....and who's sitting behind it in this music video? |

This is a great video. Was trying to remember where I'd heard a steel instrumental of this. It was Larry Sasser on his Sassey Country album. _________________ Tony.

"Are You Sure" was co-written by Willie Nelson and one Buddy Gene Emmons. It was recorded by Willie on the Steve Fishell-produced "Big E Salute," which of course you already own.
Kacey did "Late To The Party" from her "Pageant Material" album/CD/download recently on the Stephen Colbert "Late Night" show on CBS and really killed it. Plus she looked really glam.
But the steel player on stage did NOT look like Adam Ollendorff. So who was it? |

I knew it...
There was a 1995 session at RCA Studio A with a man named Clive James from England, doing a demo with Mark Knopfler.
It was an original--Someone Else's Someone, that he was soliciting help with all over town.
I was actually guessing it was you, Paul, the ending sounded like it,
altho ten years ago I didn't know what brand of steel you were playing with Dire Straits....
The session picks up at 41 minutes.
Someone Else's Someone
The whole thing is funny, coming to Nashville to pitch his song; Chet Atkins shows up at the session; he ended up going to see Tony Brown,
and leaving town, he heard Joy Lynn White singing his tune on the radio from the Grand Old Opry. |

And Adam is a "goodwill ambassador" for pedal steel guitar and Country and Western Music, a classy and thoughtful guy to boot !!!!
Adam plays a Lynn Stafford S-10 PP, D-10 PP, the Sho Pro, and a vintage bud !!!

My son recently found this song on UTube with Kacy and Willie singing it and wanted me to learn how to play it on my lap steel or Dobro. I have googled it trying to find where I can purchase the sheet music but can't find it. I have found some sites that have the lyrics and chords but I need to see the notes as well. Thanks for any help you can provide and thank you James for posting this. |

Mel,
I can't help you with the sheet music, what I can do is give you a backing track (minus the fancy intro)if that would help, I had thought of recording it myself, its such a good tune, but I will stand aside a let you please your son. If you want the backing track as an Mp3 just let me know by PM with your email address.
