Seeing another thread about a Fender 400 made me think of mine. I owned this guitar for a short time starting in about 1971 and must admit I stupidly refinished the blond topside and just put a clear-coat over the beautiful maple. Everything else was original. It was in a battered but sound tweed case. If you have this guitar, let me know. I'm not trying to get it back just thought I would fill you in on some of its history (not that it is that exciting).

Fred, a lot of these guitars had the finish stripped, so it might help if you told us a little more about the guitar. Was the frame black or silver? Did it have the non-roller nut and "hog ring" changer, or was it a later (short-scale) roller nut and cam-bridge variety? (A tweed case, if original, usually indicates the former.) Did it have silver pedals?

the frame was silver, not sure about the nut or changer. It did have silver pedals and I did not re-finish the frame to which the pedals were attached.
thanks Donny
