Hello Fellow Steelers.
I am announcing the E9th Steel Class to be held at the Phoenix Show on Friday January the 15th at 9am until 12noon. Steve and I will be teaching intermediate and above for the E9th. We will be focusing in on a couple of songs from our new album. The Waltz You Saved For Me and All My Loving. We will have 3 hours full of great steel instruction for the E9th. Tracks, Charts, Tabs, etc! Plus, you can bring your cell phone or camera and video anything we do in the class so you can review it later and make sure it was just right.
The class is $30.00 and it will include a notebook with tabs, licks, a cd with tracks, etc. $5.00 of each students fee will go to support the Phoenix Steel Association. Please RSVP on this post, or email either myself or Steve, so we will have an idea of how many booklets, cd's, etc. we will need to bring. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the show.
See Ya'll there!

Please let one of us know if you will be attending or will be needing materials if you can't make the class. We want to make sure we have materials for all.

Larry and Steve are both awesome players and Larry's a fine teacher, you should take advantage of their availability.
Larry, if you disagree with the following statement let me know, I'll delete it.
I strongly suggest you heed the intended level of the class, Intermediate/ Advanced. It's not likely to be much help to you if you're a really new player, and you're likely to slow the class down. I believe there will be seminars at the Phoenix show appropriate for the beginner level, sign up for those.
At an earlier Tolliver seminar in Phoenix, I observed one rookie player bring the class progress to a grinding halt. If Denny Beaver is teaching a class, that's going to be the right level for any beginners coming to the SWSGA show. _________________ E9 INSTRUCTION

The Instructors are ready...
The Notebooks are ready...
The CD's are ready...
Are YOU ready?
Larry tells me that right now there are 16 confirmed and there will be more who will register at the Phoenix show. We are not limiting this class, so we want to be sure to have enough course materials, and that we have a room big enough so please let us know if you are coming to the show and will want to be a part of this class.
Acknowledging John's post...Larry and I have talked about this and although the class will be for the more advanced players, we would never want to curb anyone's enthusiasm or desire to improve, so we will not discourage anyone because of their level of skill. Since the class is only 3 hours, we will have to control the flow of the class, to be sure the more advanced players "get their money's worth". If you are not at the level appropriate for this class, please don't be offended if we have to move on. We will be there for the whole weekend and will be happy to meet with anyone needing a little more attention, within reason, of course. Phoenix is a great show and we want some time to enjoy it, too!
See you next week! |

Hey Folks,
Donna Palousek here. Steve forgot to mention that you can bring your cameras and cell phones. So if your skill level isn't quite there, you will still be able to take away something from the class to work on until you "get there". We will also have Steve's Instructional VHS series, now available on DVD to purchase at our table, if you need even more instruction once you get home.
Also, Steve wants to be sure we have enough CD's. Kind of hard to burn them once we get on the road, you know. We will bring a few extra, but if you haven't contacted Larry about the class, and you plan to attend, please let us know, so we have enough materials for everyone. Last I heard, there are 20+ signed up....it's going to be a good one.
See you on Friday!
