Bypassing controls on a S-10 Sho-Bud

I want to bypass the tone, volume, and half coil switch on my Sho-Bud 6139. Here is a (crude) diagram of the current wiring (green here stands for white):

Presumably, I could just run the black and white leads straight to the output jack. But that leaves a red lead with nowhere to go.

Any advice is most welcome.

Dan, the white and black wires are the full coil winding (20k on mine) and red is the tap (10.6k).

To bypass everything, remove the two white wires from the pot terminals and connect them together. Remove the red wire from the switch and leave it disconnected (tape the end). Black can stay as-is.

So, left as is, the the black won't be affected by the capacitor?

The cap and pots won't affect the pickup at all if the black wire stays as it is, as long as the red and white wires are not connected to them.

I'm itching to check this rig out! Maybe this weekend?

Yep, just connect the white lead to the "tip" of the output jack, red to nothing. I just did this on my 6139.

Years ago I mounted a three-way switch to the end-plate, to select the full coil, the split, or both sides of the split in parallel. The switch on the deck was a capacitor/tone-pot bypass. I shielded the interconnecting wires (there are a lot of them) inside some wire-braid. With the volume and tone control it offered some great tone options. I used it this way for years.

This rats-nest became noisy recently, so I took the direct route with the white wire.

Don't know yet if I will keep it like this, or try to resurrect my franken-circuit.
