Howdy!
I'm selling my 1957 Stringmaster T-8 ... MAKE ME AN OFFER!!!
All offers will be considered. Low offers will not offend me, I have thick skin!!
1957 Fender Stringmaster T8, blonde, with 3 short-scale 22.5†necks.
All parts are original (as far as I can tell) except that I added new rubber leg-feet, and a new black plastic neck-selector “Fender top hat†switch knob.
All 6 pickups, switches, selector, blenders, and Tone & Volume knobs all work great!
All 4 legs telescope and lock perfectly.
The legs store in the bottom of the case.
The body has a few dings and a couple of cig burns.
The case is original and a bit beat up, etc, but all of the hinges, buckles/hasps, and leather hand-strap all work great. I did (stupidly) stencil my name on the outside of the case many years ago, but maybe that can be removed?
Everything works great, and it sounds AWESOME!
I looked under the tuner pans for a date (see photos) but I could not find it anywhere.
But all of the pots I looked at said: 304645, so the pots are dated: November 1956.
So that’s how I arrived at the date of 1957 (but other folks say its MAYBE a 1958 or 1959, not that it matters much).
I bought it in 1980 from a store in Claremont, California.
I’m now selling it … so that I can buy more gear!
Sold as is, shipping not included. (I live near Los Angeles)
MAKE ME AN OFFER!!

Hi, I am about to turn 82 and since I quit playing and sold all my stuff several years ago, I would offer you $200.00 and it would give me something to plunk on. I used to own the same thing many years ago, only it was the walnut version. |

That $200.00 is all I can afford. Living on social security leaves very little for non-essential things, so I guess Erv gets it. |

Howdy,
Sadly, both $11 and $201 are too low for me!
And I have NO PLANS to part it out, so don't worry.
I see that parts go for a lot of money. But I'm a real musician (like you guys), and I love instruments greatly, and I'm not gonna hack this one up.
Soooooo .... I still have it here!
(its un-modified, and all original)

Gayle; I was of course only going with $11 bux; just to beat Chris out..ha...and so I laughed and I'm done..ha.
But wanted to give my opinion as this incredible Fender Stringmaster has gone down a weird road with folks that no NOTHING about it...(well except the ones that may of PM you with a real offer).
But this is certainly a late 56 or 57 Stringmaster but I'll go with the '57 simply because of the 3-way switch and 22.5 scale.
The reason these stringmasters before 1960 sound completely "out of this world" and far better than anything else is because they were made out of "Swamp Ash Wood" and not regular Ash that fender ended up using on everything after 1960. To me everyone is tight on money because of holidays and end of year and bla bla.....>As I believe anything under 1500.00 for this Fender Stringmaster is just wrong...ha...but yes I do understand money and not having or needing and so I'm not condemning anything that may transpire but please folks; this is the best sounding and playing Fender Stringmaster ever made; with all do respect.

Well it looks like Gayle's best offer auction for his fender triple neck steel worked just fine once you guys got over it and made some serious offers I think that's just amazing good for Gayle. I'm glad you sold it and got a price that you were happy with.
