After 25 years or so, I will no longer be working the Dallas Show as the house drummer.
Due to a contract dispute.
I have loved working the show and making great friends. It's like leaving the family. Sorry..
I do not know who the new drummer will be, but, I'm sure the TSGA will get someone who is more than capable of doing the job.
Players, contact Albert for any more information.
I will miss all of you.
Love y'all

Paul, I am very disappointed. I know of no other drummer that is capable of replacing you, not only as a player but as a true gentleman. Last year I attended both St Louis and Dallas. Since you will not be in Dallas I will take that show off my agenda. Thanks Paul your character and loyalty is unequaled.

Thank you guys for the kind words. My schedule for the whole year will change.
Like I said before, there are many fine drummers in the Dallas area. And I'm sure that Albert and the TSGA have a great drummer lined up to do the show.
However, my March schedule will never be the same.
Love,
Paul |

Maybe it's between Paul and the TSGA Board of Directors and the Peanut Gallery should keep their collective noses out of other people's business.
Just sayin'...
And I want to add that no one... and I repeat no one... will miss Paul Polish and his playing more than I. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Thank you Barry for the thought. I would like to think you are a concerned friend and not a member of the peanut gallery. HA!!!
Sorry Herb, had to say that. Love ya man.
Herb is correct. This is between me and the TSGA.
I told the TSGA it was not their fault that I moved 1100 miles away and that I am getting older and don't have the stamina to do a good job for ALL of the players on the show.
When I made my requests I knew what the answers would be. I have accepted the decisions made.
So,both myself and the TSGA will have to live with the decisions.
Thank You every one for your concern.
Will miss you all.

Paul and Barry, you BOTH have my sincerest apologies for my bluntness in my reply.
I made my statement after having been involved in steel shows and their organization for over 25 years, as well as being on the BOD's of two steel guitar HOF's. I speak from close-hand experience.
When many third parties that have no direct involvement insert themselves into an issue, a lot of things can happen, and most of the results are not good. I've seen it too many times, especially when raising money is involved. People get bent out of shape over things that they can't control and should have avoided in the first place.
Remember all the money that was raised for Shot Jackson's Sho~Bro? Big ceremony and everything. It then went into the basement/dungeon of the CMHOF with all the other unused memorabilia, probably never to be seen again. It would have been better for a player to have purchased it and used it professionally with honor.
Again, my apologies to everyone, especially Barry and Paul. Paul, you know that you and Dee are among the closest friends I have in the TSGA, and musical colleagues for over 25 years. I have counted on you being onstage with me that entire time, but it's y'all's presence that I will miss most of all. Love you my brother.
Herb out. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

HERB FOR PRESIDENT!! Ya know thinking back, I can't think of many issues the Herb has been wrong about.
He must have been a carpenter at one time cause it always seems he hits the nail right on the head.
Stay cool Herb and keep hittin' the nail my friend!!

Hi Paul,
How about the Phx. show? Haven't seen you in a while. I played my first set there this year and was looking forward to your magic during my "Johnny Angel" rendition. Dan Range did a good job.
