Hello forumites,
Just wondering whether anyone knew of an album that has Curly Chalker playing with Don Gibson? I think he played with him in the late sixties or early seventies?
If anyone owns the Bear Family Box Set of Don Gibson, "The Singer, The Songwriter, 1966-1969", does it have much Curly on it?
Thanks in advance!

I never much liked post-1965 Gibson, but Chalker is supposed to be on these tracks. I can't vouch for it's accuracy.
I wouldn't expect any extended rides, but I recall some favorable comments about Curley with Don on some of these tracks.
Most of the steel on this box set is by Pete Drake, Bill West, Sonny Burnette, Lloyd Green, or Weldon Myrick.

I believe Curly Chalker is on the "Country Green", "Don't Stop Loving Me", "The Gibson Way", "Don Gibson Sings All-Time Country Gold", and "Don Gibson Sings Hank Williams" albums, and probably more. |
