Knee lever placement

Where do the knee levers contact your legs?

I'm adjusting to a different guitar, where the knee levers are further forward on my leg... it's okay, but it's a transition.

Where do you folks feel comfortable having the initial contact with the levers? The new instrument hits me a fair bit closer to my kneecap... not a big deal, but I wondered what was typical, or whether it was just a personal preference thing...
