Can't post a picture, but this is a double neck lap steel.

Top neck has 6 strings and bottom neck has 8 strings. The lable was attached to the top neck but is now gone.

It has 22 1/4" necks and the bottom neck is offset to the left about 1" or so. There is a hole drilled in the center of the bottom about 1" +/_ in diameter which was probably used for a stand to set into, and it looks like it clamped to the back (player side) of the steel (a round indent about 3/4" diameter).

It must have played good, as it's original color is BLACK. There are some type of inlays placed in between the necks.

Pluged it into my S2000 and it still sounds great. Other then neck selector switch being wired where both necks stay on all the time and the tone control knob missing, the steel seems to be comlete.

This is the one Roy is talking about.

Looks like a homebuild to me but there may be guys that recognize this steel.

I found some information on a Kent or Teisco lap steel and the hardware (pickup covers etc) looks something like what is on a Model EG-8L single neck.

This should probably get moved over to the No Peddlers Section.

Roy,
I believe it is a Teisco.
I own two Teisco steels, and the necks and the pickup covers look the same.
Usually, Teisco has a name plate on the headstock. Mounted with small screws.
However, they were pretty lax in their methods of manufacture and steels made on different days may be different.
That one appears to be from the late '40's or early '50's.
