This is on the Guitar Center site. Listed as a 30's 6 string lap steel for $750. Sweet looking guitar but they don't list a name, any Idea. I looked again it has Dobro but this is electric. I might call tomorrow and ask if the neck is round or square. Cool looking guitar would like to have it.

It's not a lap steel but a round-necked archtop. There were a bunch of variations on this model under the Dobro, National and Supro names; this one dates from around 1936-7. They all had bodies and necks by Regal with National-Dobro electronics. Between bad neck sets and the general novelty of electric instruments at the time, many were set up as lap steels leading to some later misidentifications. (My 1934 Dobro All-Electric Spanish guitar arrived set up with resophonic strings).

You could easily put a nut extender on it (it might not even need one depending on how much the neck has shifted) but it will never have the sustain of a solidbody lap steel.
