For sale is my upright bass. Am reposting with a price drop. Part of the stuff I can’t take along since I have to move. Health issues prevent me from taking any more gigs with it; just playing electric these days.
The bass is a German import. I have owned it for the last approx. 12 years, having purchased it from the estate of a deceased bassist here in Charleston.. Decal states made in 1990. Laminate construction. I paid $1600 for it when I bought it used.
The bass has an adjustable bridge with a set of Fishman pickups installed and a new set of Innovation 140H synthetic core strings. Also, a stand(shown in pics).
The top is a bit sunken in by the f-holes. I am told the bass bar may be a little weak, but since nothing has changed for years, should not get any worse. The repair is costly and am told it might not improve the tone at all, which is fine now, and no need to fix what is not broken.
The bass sounds just fine as it is, almost like a hardwood top bass and has plenty of projection acoustically or thru the pickups. I have used this bass on lots of gigs and it has never let me down. The new strings really brought the tone to life as I never heard it all the years i was gigging with it.
My asking price is $850. I cannot ship this bass, so will need to meet in person. I can drive a reasonable distance from here in Charleston, S.C.

I wish I was closer. I glanced at your avatar and thought I saw Southern California... lol. I'm still willing to meet you on the California side of the Colorado River. Seriously though, you have a nice bass...good luck on your sale. _________________ Clinesmith consoles D-8/6 5 pedal, D-8 3 pedal & A25 Frypan, Pettingill Teardrop, & P8 Deluxe. |
