Sometimes it's a tad confusing when I need to "translate" C6 10 string tab into B6 12 string tab.

I was looking at a piece of tabbed music, standard C6 set up, and there's an Ab7#11 at the 4th fret, pedals 6 + 7, strings 3 to 8 (IV chord in the key of Eb). Is that right? My C6 chord dictionary says there's a C7(or 9)#11 at the 7th fret, so wouldn't Ab be at the 3d fret on C6 (4th fret on E9/B6 U12)? Please help me see what I'm messing up here....

Specifically on Uni, without the E lower engaged,
at the 10th fret
-- the pedal that lowers 7th string a half step (P5 for some)
-- B strings lowered a half step (I lower both 9 & 5 on a vert lever.)

A nice 7#11, positioned one fret up from the B6 E-lower-lever position for Ab.

Yes it would. Yours would not be the first ever tab with a misprint.

Thanks, Jon and Ian - I was starting to think I might really not be getting this 6th thing!
My C6 chord dictionary shows all the notes, and they just didn't line up with what I was seeing in the tab.

When I started to tackle C6 on the D10, I tuned the rear neck down to B in case I ever got to play a uni. When I did, it paid off as I was already used to thinking up a fret.

No help if the tab's wrong, though! Smile

I never played a double neck, and had limited use for the B6 side of my Universal.
Wish I'd dug into it a long time ago, though; tough for an old dog to learn new tricks now....
One thing I really like about the U12 is that at the 8th fret, for instance, there's a C chord in either mode (plus numerous others, but on the C6 neck, I'd have to think of a C chord on the 7th). Still, I like how Joe Wright promotes the Universal as ONE big tuning, which it is. I like being able to weave things from both necks together, while staying on one neck.
That tab error has proved beneficial: after studying it, and asking here, I'll now easily remember where to get a C7(or 9)#11 - at the 8th fret.
