| I know, I know...if I wanted light I shouldn't have bought an Emmons P/P! Be it as it may, I'm searching for a company that builds light weight cases. Any suggestions? |

DEPENDING on the make and model of your guitar i can make them between 10 to 12 lbs

| Wayne, do you have the measurements for an early 80’s Emmons P/P S10 on a double frame? The ideal would be one case for the guitar and another for legs/pedal rack/rods, etc. How are your cases constructed? What materials? Thanks |

How light ? And how much protection ? A normal case comes in at around 24 lbs. All these special cases made by builders I have found out about on the forum weigh the same or more. There is a guy in Norway who looks like he has a good idea for a case under 20 Lbs though. The shipping is pretty steep to the US. I will wait to get one until I'm over there on a tour.

Right now I'm looking into SKB boxes that are the right dimentions. I'll cut the foam myself. The SKB boxes are around 12 lbs without the foam. I use an SKB shotgun case for my S10 fly guitar. It works fine.

Talk to Bobbe Seymour. He hooked me up with
someone who made me a 2 piece case set for my CLR and I don;t think both of them together weigh 10 pounds. I don't remember
who it was but I'm sure Bobbe does.

At the Dallas convention this year Carter had some soft cases that looked interesting. But I havent seen or heard anything about them since.

| There has previously been some discussion about fiberboard cases, like drum cases -- not real road-rugged, perhaps, but they must be great for local use, at least with small, light guitars like my S-10 Williams (my Sho-Bud Crossover probably would fall out the bottom of one). I actually also have a SKB double recurve bow case (wheeled) which I modified for my MCI D10 once the airlines had trashed the original case. It is a bit longer than the steel so you can stash other stuff in there as well, but it is lighter than my Dell case for the Zum.
Might be worth a look!
