I know many of the earlier models had mods done to them, such as Ken Fox or others had - Has Peavey done any changes to their later models to where you do not need this - I know I installed one in an earlier one and thought it really helped.....

| So then they have the OPA2134PA chips in them or the same old IC chips used all along? I know they incorporated the tone section mods of the Nashville 400. Never seen one yet from the factory with OPA2134PA chips on the preamp board. |

I have an older Nashville 112 and a newer Nashville 112. I replaced the reverb tank due to a wire break and installed the Eminence light weight speaker in the old amp. Both sound great, however, the newer stock Nashville 112 sounds the best to my ears. In all fairness, my older Nashville 112 has taken a severe beating the past few years.
Pound for pound, sound and price, I believe the Peavey Nashville 112 to be the best for my work. Always consistant, dependable and easy to dial in. |

Ron, these are the settings I use with my Mullen G2 and Mullen Royal Precision equipped with re-issue Lawrence 705 pickups. As you'll notice, the knobs are banged up and the logo has been knocked off a few times due to traveling on trucks, cartage, my trunk and just plain old abuse. It's been a real work hoss.

Hi Dale,
Usually just a Goodrich 120 volume pedal between guitar and amp. Sometimes use a Lil Izzy for something different. I do sometimes place a Boss delay pedal, Boss chorus pedal, distortion pedal or Hall of Fame mini reverb pedal after the volume pedal but more often than not, just a volume pedal with a little of the Nashville 112 spring reverb. |

Wow... You get that kind of tone from the just the guitar and amp setup! I have pretty much the same effects but don't always use them as well. I was just looking at some photos of Lloyd Green in the studio and I could not see anything from guitar to amp except the vp. Of course he is using a Fender twin which I'm guessing gives him that warm tone. Have you ever tried any of the tube amps, I.e Lil Walter, Milkman etc? Just wondering your thoughts on that because I also love Lloyds tone as well as you! You are a great player and hope to meet you someday! I appreciate the reply!

By the way, I own 4 NV112's and they are all stock.
Would never even consider changing them.
In fact, I believe that after playing my stock NV112 in St Louis, Buck Reid is putting the stock speaker back in his.

Interesting to see Tommy's settings - Especially the Presence - I just bought a 112 from a friend and the presence was set that way and I thought it was just a fluke - tried different settings and ended up right back to where it was - Strange, but sounds great!!

These settings are the ones. Really cleaned up the amp. Wow, thanks Tommy. And, by the way, you look great in the tux. ;- )

When I took lessons from Maurice, I remember asking him about EQ settings. He told me to start out with low & high at 0, shift at 800 Hz, and mid & presence at -15. From there, adjust to your heart's content.
Of course it changes guitar to guitar, but I tend to go for
* Low = +6
* Mid = -6
* Shift = 800 Hz
* High = +9
* Presence = 0

Mitch, I set the master volume wide open and the pre to 5. This seems to let the eq section really work.
Tom,
thanks so much. Glad those settings work for you. I have found the Shift control to be key in a balanced and clean eq. If the shift is past the noon position, it really thickens and garbles the mids.
