What in the world do I do with the top 2 strings? I can add a D and a G to the top, but then I've got another string too. My guitar has no changes on those two top ones, so....what would you do? (other than sell it and get a 10 string...you jokers )
Thanks for any suggestions

I would have the G on string 3. The D string on string 1. B on string 2. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I like Richard's thinking. G plus two diatonic reentrants. |

Excellent question. ..
Anyone have an opinion on adding a D near the middle like this. .bottom to top:
CFAC D EGACEGD
I really want that D but am concerned it will ruin my muscle memory. |

I have an F and a D on top, so my strings from top to bottom are FDGECAGECAFC. |

I do that with a pedal, like Buddy did for a while. F-A, A-C, and C-D. |

but I still don't play it. I took it out once this year and played for about 20 minutes and gave up. So maybe it's a bad tuning. |

There is one other option for a left-over 12th string, and I can't remember who did it, which is to have a sub-bass F at the bottom. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

I play a Carter D12 and a non-pedal 12
My pedal C6 from top to bottom is DGECAGECAFCF
My non-peda; from top to bottom is DBGECAGECAFC
I find this array works for the style I play. _________________ Carter D12, MSA S12, 12 String Custom Made Non-Pedal, Evans FET 500LV, Evans SE200, Peavey Nashville 400, Fender Steel King |

My Bb6 S12 is:
1 C
2 G
3 F
4 D
5 Bb
6 G
7 F
8 D
9 Bb
10 G
11 Eb
12 C
Not sure why you'd need a reentrant maj7 when there's several ways to get it with the pedals, but I do have one on my 12 string non pedal _________________ Christopher Woitach
