The Nashville 112 I just bought is down waiting on some new parts . Not having an amp for steel I plugged my GFI Ultra in to the Fender FM 65 and what a sound. Only a bass & treble on the clean channel but I can not believe what I am hearing . keep in mind that this is only in my little practice studio room and not a gig , but I gave $80 for this little amp about a year ago , who'd a thunk it ! _________________ GFI D-10 Ultra, Peavey Nashville 112, Goodrich 120 . |

I started using a Fender FM100 instead of my tube amp, the sound is very impressive IMO. The 100 has a mid knob for both channels. The Champion is the latest incarnation. The older FM's are minus the built-in effects. They are good steel amps for a song. _________________ "Be Kind to Animals, don't eat Them"

@ Richard, I sort of miss the mid knob. I just was wondering what it would be like to get a FM-100 and load it with one of those modern day neo light weight 15s . @4 ohms wonder if you would need more than 100 watts RMS ? _________________ GFI D-10 Ultra, Peavey Nashville 112, Goodrich 120 . |

I have an FM65 that I use as a test amp/practice amp in my studio. It sounds pretty good but the digital effects screw up sometimes and go into uncontrolled screaming feedback! The only way to stop it is to shut off the amp and then turn it on again... so I can't trust it on a gig anymore.
So I keep it in my control room when I want to practice or casually jam along with some recordings I may be working on. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYG9cvwCPKuXpGofziPNieA/feed?activity_view=3 |

I find the mid knob to be quite useful as I tend to keep the hi knob around 2. A 4 ohm speaker would be a poor match for the 8 ohm output. The solid state 100w is comparable to most any 100 tube amp in loudness IMO. I like the Emminance Legend speakers. They come across as bright but not shrill in this amp. The Frontman 212 is the same amp. The recent Fender Champion 100 is also the same but with effects. The weight is a manageble 40 lbs. If you do try one at a store, you might also try out the Fender Mustang III. A 100w 112. (only get the recent V2). A modeling amp with downloadable perameters. For $329, the perfect gift for the young Rusty Young in your family (no pun intended). There's also a Mustange IV a 212 w/150w. _________________ "Be Kind to Animals, don't eat Them"
