Have any of you folks used a K-140 for PSG?

Thank you,

Marty

Marty,I had a K-140 in a Peavey LTD amp...it sounded glorious...

I think the only difference between a 130 and a 140 is that the 140 has a cloth surround on the cone so a bass won't blow it up...

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the K140 has a ribbed cone. I have no idea how it would sound for PSG.

I tried a K-130 in my NV400 once, and hated it. My favotite speaker that I have tried, is the 1502-4 that came stock in my 400. I imagine the K140 might sound good too.

from JBL old literature.

the freq response of the K140 is 40-2500hz
the freq response of the K130 is 50-6000hz.

how in the world anyone could say that a steel guitar or an underarm guitar sounds good through a k140 is beyond me. virtually all the top end you need is not even audible from this speaker. its a bass speaker.

I like'em...

The 1502 is a bass speaker.

From a Peavey document, the usable frequency response of the 1502 is 40 Hz - 2 kHz, similar to the K140, but I can get highs that will burn your ear blown off.

From another Peavey document: 1505DT-4 Black Widow
The 1505DT-4 is a 4 ohm, 15" Black Widow/Super Structure speaker with a curvilinear Kevlar impregnated cone for extended smooth response. While used as a bass guitar speaker, the high frequencies have a little extra "bite." Long voice coil maintains linearity at high drive levels.
